TAYLOR GARBAGE SERVICE INC. TRANSFER STATION LOT ATTENDANT (BARTON NY) Reports to Route Manager FLSA Status Non-Exempt (hourly) Department Shop Purpose Assist customers with unloading of garbage and recyclables to ensure that garbage is collected transported and disposed of in an appropriate manner. Operation of bucket loader and yard tractor in a safe and appropriate manner. Interacts with customers in a courteous and respectful manner. Performs duties in accordance with Taylor Garbage Service Inc. policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved. Performance of lower level duties may be required. Separates all metal and recyclables from incoming trash. Operates all equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury property damage or loss of life. Picks up refuse in other areas as required to keep transfer station clean and presentable. Dispose of garbage according to set policies and procedures. Clean the yard and refuse containers as scheduled and or required. In event of an accident assures that medical emergency procedures are followed completes written accident report as required. Relays information from customer to management. Attends work on a regular and continuous basis. Additional Duties Ensures that appropriate safety standards are adhered to. Represents Taylor Garbage Service Inc. in a positive and professional image and demeanor in all customer and intra-company contacts. Performs other related duties as assigned. Notes Work requires physical strength and agility sufficient to safely perform all essential functions. Requires repetitive lifting pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects. Handles potentially harmful materials in a safe and efficient way to eliminate the possibility of contamination and infection of themselves or others. Take necessary precautions to protect eyes nose and skin from irritation and infection from exposure to dangerous substances. Requires ability to work in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat. Must be dependable in order to fulfill obligations and meet deadlines.
