Our beautiful 18 month old girl is looking for just the right home to play run and be a border collie. Her foster parents have spent some time getting to know this lovely girl. We ve had hundreds of border collies come through out gates and we have to say CALLIE is the most focused ball player we have ever met CALLIE can be seen throughout the day walking about the yard with a ball in her mouth. And the other times you just know she s thinking now just where did I leave that ball . She is outstanding at retrieving and leaving the ball directly at your feet Just say let go and she ll drop it at your toes and back off to await the next toss. CALLIE is housebroken crate trained for eating and sleeping quietly overnight not a digger or chewer and overall a very well behaved young girl. She knows come and sit. She may alarm bark when people walk through the yard though with a public pond above our property she probably gets a bit more stimulus in this department than she will at most other homes. CALLIE gets along well with all of the other dogs at her foster home and played enthusiastically with the two 4 month old puppies we were fostering recently. CALLIE has been very interested in PuckleCat so unless your cat is dog savvy your kitty may be put off by her attention. CALLIE has many outstanding qualities but is a unique border collie who needs a home tailored to her. She loves her people and will cuddle with her foster mom on the sofa or lie next to dad while he works in his office. When you get up she gets up to follow and see what s what. While she s eager to receive attention from her owners she doesn t need other people to reach out and handle her. We re looking for a home where CALLIE S people have an active lifestyle but are experienced dog handlers who understand CALLIE wants to bond with them but not necessarily others. On a couple of occasions she has been reactive to visitors who have been petting her. By reactive we mean she has snapped at them particular when they were holding her head. We tell visitors to ignore her and that works just fine for her. While she is thrilled for anyone to throw the ball for her the hands on interaction some dogs seek is just not her thing. This wonderful focused girl needs an owner interactive environment in which to flourish though if you are looking for a companion to take to the dog park or hang out with at cafes for example CALLIE may not then be the best choice for these activities. CALLIE is micro-chipped spayed heart worm negative and on preventative and up to date on vaccinations.
