Langley Flying School is a Flight Training Unit certified by Transport Canada to provide private and professional pilot training. Founded in 1994 Langley Flying School operates a fleet of 12 air-crafts and 2 flight simulators. Our mission is to provide safe and effective pilot training to encourage high standards in flying practices among our students including the promotion of professional-level pilot knowledge and skills and to continually develop our training programs to ensure that they meet the highest of standards in the flight training industry yet maintain an effective and informal learning environment.Langley Flying School provides training for Private Pilots and Commercial Pilots as well as pilots qualified with the advance Multi-engine Ratings Instrument Ratings and Instructor Ratings. Langley Flying School currently offers two aviation diploma programs the credits of which are recognized by two universities in BC.Langley Flying School is to further advance our cooperation projects with counterparts in China in fields of joint educational programs and contractual training of pilots for various Chinese airlines. We are hiring an English Chinese Translator to facilitate faster and better communication in this regard.Position English Chinese Translator full-time & permanentCompensation 56400 yWorking hours per week 40 Starting As soon as possible Duties & Responsibilities- Translate a variety of documents for the School by processing materials in a very constrained time-sensitive and accurate manner- Revise legal documents technical specifications textbooks and educational training materials correspondence in professional standards ensuring translated content conveys the original meaning and tone- Research aviation industry-specific terminology to correct the translated technical materials- Provide communication services verbally or in writing in the specific language on behalf of the School including online telephone in-person interpretation support to non-English speaking partners as well as students parents guardians as requested- Exercise tact and discretion in line with School requirements and good judgment to maintain confidentiality with regard to student information- Perform other duties as assigned Job Qualifications - Degree in translation or interpretation in the specified languages- Minimum 3 years of experience as a translator- Highly related and comparable experience in the educational sector or in the aviation industry is preferred- An understanding of education s value along with the beliefs and practices of the targeted cultural group- Ability to organize work and set priorities for accomplishing tasks in a timely and effective manner Thank you for your interest and application.
