The role of the Chief Operating Officer is to a. Implement the company s mission and strategic direction as determined by the board of directors through the establishment and implementation of objectives which are met through the effective management of human financial and material resources.b. Take end to end operational responsibility for the Aircraft Operating Certificate with Transport Canadac. Ensure compliance with Aviation Regulations and Occupational Health and Safety regulationsd. Allocate material human and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs establish financial and administrative controls formulate and implement promotional campaigns.e. Appoint all key postholders as required by aviation Regulationsf. Represent the organization or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization in negotiations or other official functions of an operational and commercial nature.g. Co-ordinate and oversee the work of regions divisions or departments. RESPONSIBILITIES2. Roles and responsibilities include the following h. Develop high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives i. Lead and motivate subordinates to advance employee engagement towards developing a high performing managerial team j. Ensure that the organization is adequately resourced (human financial and material resources) to meet civil aviation regulations and standards k. Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy and mission l. Make high-quality decisions to advance the business and increase profits m. Enforce adherence to policies to maintain the company s legality and business ethics n. Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for the company s board of directors o. Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth p. Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the company.q. Implement the company safety policy to ensure for the safe efficient and cost-effective operation of all aspects of customer service cabin services flight deck crew flight operations maintenance and continuing airworthiness of company aircraft r. Engage and conclude Service Level Agreements where necessary for i. Internet Connectivity ii. Airport and Fuel Supplies iii. Regulatory and Government Service Providers iv. Outsourced Services v. Passenger and Aircraft Handling s. Deploy IT backbone equipment to ensure office base and site connectivityt. Assess and review online service provider applications and contracts CONDITIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT 3. The position requires Knowledge of i. the applicable Canadian Transport Agency (CTA) requirements commensurate with the licenses held by the company ii. the Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulations structure and applicability iii. the operations specifications and iv.
