Work Location 140 Lonsdale Ave North Vancouver BC V7M 2E8Position Title CookTerms of Employment Full-time PermanentEstimated Starting Date As Soon As PossiblePosition Available 1Wage 18.00 - 19.00 per hour (Depending on Working Experience).Work Hours 30 - 40 hours per weekBenefits 4 % Vacation Pay Responsibility Prepare and cook various Japanese cuisine such as sushi tempura teriyaki udon bento box ramen etc in JL Sushi & Kitchen s menu With ensuring a meal quality for customers the candidate will work under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines for customers food orders Assist the main chef to develop menus and to manage inventory of food items Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized Assist main chef to oversee kitchen operation is working smoothly and safely to make sure that the kitchen remains safe and hazard free Assist the main chef to train & to supervise kitchen staff members. Qualification Completion of secondary school is required Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR Completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety OR 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience are required Able to work under pressure as a team player in a busy kitchen atmosphere Able to communicate in English.
