This position observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists cranes hand tools and power tools and examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge of hydraulics pneumatics mechanical power transmission welding rigging and pipe fitting. This position requires an individual to have a high mechanical aptitude and capable of running projects with little or no instruction. Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Dependable job attendance is expected. Machine repair experience is preferred. Shift Information 12-hour shift New hires would likely be placed onto the night shift. 2-2-3 continuous work schedule (This scheduling allows for some natural overtime and gives a three-day weekend every other week) Work Environment Texarkana AR Plant The job is within a fast paced heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the factory. The environmental conditions can be hot cold and noisy. Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection protective clothing and steel-toed shoes. Basic Qualifications High school diploma GED or the Workforce Center s Career Readiness Certification (CRC) with a minimum of Silver Certificate level Must be at least 18 years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future Required to lift heavy materials climb stand squat bend and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations 5 years of Millwright experience or successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship program in this specific craft Have working knowledge of physical properties of common metals (i.e. strength in shear tension and compression hardness) Must complete aptitude test and hands-on assessment administered by an outside party
