Chosen people

God s chosen people So many get this so wrong. Some say God is a racist for this saying. They do not understand what the phrase chosen people means. This is a KJV Bible study guide. God s Word affirms that the Jews are God s chosen people You are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people his treasured possession (Deuteronomy 7 6). From eternity past God knew that He would need to be born into the human race in order to save us from the spiritually dead condition that we were in (Ephesians 1-2 Genesis 3). God had planned from the beginning to be born into a very small nation or race of people called the Jews. The Old Testament tells the story of how God set about creating distinguishing and preserving that race. The ultimate goal of God s choice of the Jews as His chosen people was to produce the Messiah Jesus Christ who would be the Savior of the world (see Acts 13 22-23 below). Jesus had to come from some nation or people and God chose Israel. That choice doesn t make them any better than anyone else (see Romans 3 23). God first promised the Savior Messiah after Adam and Eve sinned (Genesis 3 15). Later God specified that the Messiah would come from the line of Abraham Isaac and Jacob (Genesis 12). Later still He narrowed the Messiah s ancestry to the line of David (2 Samuel 7). Throughout their history the people of Israel were aware of their chosen status before God (see the following verses 1 Kings 3 8 & 8 53 Psalms 105 43 Isaiah 43 4 & 65 9 and Amos 3 2). The fact that God has an eternal future for Israel is evident in that five sixths of the Bible bears directly or indirectly upon them Jesus being the central figure who brought the Jews and Gentiles together (Ephesians 2 14). Again the purpose of God s chosen people Acts 13 22 And when he had removed him he raised up unto them David to be their king to whom also he gave their testimony and said I have found David the son of Jesse a man after mine own heart which shall fulfil all my will.Acts 13 23 Of this man s seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour Jesus (It was God s will that a Saviour (Jesus Christ) would come through King David. This is also known as the key of David [the true Christ s genealogy]. Again Christ s lineage goes all the way back to Adam Eve umbilical cord to umbilical cord through King David and his son Nathan. This is why Eve is called mother of all living this is talking of eternal life). God is not a respecter of persons Israelite or anyone else. 1 Samuel 16 7 But the LORD said unto Samuel Look not on his countenance or on the height of his stature because I have refused him for the LORD seeth not as man seeth for man looketh on the outward appearance but the LORD looketh on the heart. [God doesn t look at our outer appearance He looks at the heart or inner man]. Acts 10 34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons Some of the many verses that are important to this topic Deuteronomy 1 17 16 19 2 Chronicles 19 7 Proverbs 24 23 28 21 Romans 2 11 Ephesians 6 9 Colossians 3 25 1 Timothy 2 4 James 2 9 1 Peter 1 17 2 Peter 3 9. He shows no favoritism or partiality like many humans do He doesn t discriminate in any way. He judges fairly in all cases. He applies the same rules to each and everyone of us regardless of our outward appearance financial standing position in society religious affiliation position in our government nationality color of skin language we speak etc. We will all eventually get exactly what we deserve based on our choices in this life (see all of Psalm 37 for what happens to the wicked). 2 Corinthians 5 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that every one may receive the things done in his body according to that he hath done whether it be good or bad. (This includes God s chosen people). Hebrews 9 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment (No one misses these two appointments). Do you want to learn the truth Why don t you try something different like actually studying the word of God. If you choose not to study you have set yourself up to be deceived you have put your trust in a man and not God. Bad choice Please read the following two verses John 17 17 Sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth. 2 Timothy 2 15 Study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. (God commands us to study His word. Sadly far too many don t know this). Something else to remember is God made all races of human beings and God doesn t make mistakes. It is not a good idea to make statements like God is a racist . That shows your ignorance due to biblical illiteracy.
