NEW HIGHER PAY 34 936 - 61 137 The ChallengeWe are hiring an Entry-Level Engineering Technician to join our award-winning Winston-Salem Construction team. In this role you will Assist engineers and senior technicians in the implementation and administration of roadway and structure construction projects awarded to private contractors. Assist on projects from minor to complex. Provide inspection of every phase of a construction project to ensure it is built according to plans and specifications in a timely and cost-effective manner. Conduct routine inspections for compliance with contract agreements standard codes permit and specifications. Perform calculations computations and computer iPad data entry. What You BringExperience planning developing scheduling tracking and completing projects independently or with limited supervision. Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems. Experience working in a team environment to complete assignments. Customer service experience solving problems involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups. Computer skills using Microsoft Office and drafting software. Good communications skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive communications between other technicians engineers contractors and the public and the ability to effectively communicate in a clear concise organized and persuasive manner. Ability to work safely in an outside environment with exposure to hazards on construction sites including heights highway traffic and traversing rough terrain in evaluating highway construction. Ability to perform moderate physical activity including but not limited to walking climbing balancing kneeling and standing. Strength to lift 50 pounds. Able to work nights and weekends as required. You apply a safety philosophy and program to all operations. Safety toe shoes. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Civil Engineering Technology Survey Technology or a related curriculum or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
