Smart Contract EngineerAbout Us Ostium Labs is a pioneering company focused on developing the first perpetuals DEX designed specifically for Real World Assets starting with commodities and forex. As a rapidly growing startup with a current team size of 1-10 members we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Solidity Smart Contract Engineer to join our team. This role involves collaborating closely with our CTO founding engineer and other team members to design develop test and deploy smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain.Key Responsibilities Smart Contract Development Design and develop smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain and EVM L2s (Arbitrum Optimism). Ensure the quality reliability and security of smart contract code through comprehensive unit testing and code reviews. Collaboration Work closely with team members including the product head designers and back-end developers to iterate on protocol architecture. Codebase Maintenance Implement and maintain the smart contract codebase incorporating changes based on feedback and user requirements. Project Management Assist with project management including creating project plans timelines milestones and tracking progress against those plans. Requirements Experience At least 3 years of experience in Solidity smart contract development including exchange architecture design. Security and Industry Knowledge Deep understanding of smart contract security vulnerabilities and best practices. Strong knowledge of the DeFi ecosystem including familiarity with other blockchain platforms and protocols. Basic knowledge of the economics of AMMs CLOBs and other liquidity architectures in DeFi. Skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a passion for tackling complex technical challenges. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Hiring Criteria Must be able to work in NYC or London 1 3 of the time. DEX AMM understanding (liquidity pool models fee structures risk). Experience deploying smart contracts on Ethereum and EVM L2s. Very strong solidity experience. < 2 hours travel from London or NYC.
