NEW HIGHER SALARY 38 516 - 67 404 The ChallengeWe re looking for an Electronics Technician to join our Johnston County Traffic Services team. In this role you will Provide technical work in the installation repair and maintenance of electrical electronic equipment with an emphasis on traffic control equipment and related devices throughout Division 4 (Edgecombe Halifax Johnston Nash Wayne & Wilson Counties ) but primarily in Johnston county. Create monthly Project Reports. Locate and install traffic signal equipment wiring detectors and wiring controllers. Trace out electrical wiring diagrams to locate trouble. Dismantle and reassemble components. Replace worn faulty parts. What You BringKnowledge of standard test equipment used to diagnose electronic components. Experience reading and understanding schematic drawings and wiring diagrams. Knowledge of the National Electric Code. Demonstrated ability to plan schedule and carry out work assignments effectively with minimal supervision. Experience performing manual and physical labor in varied environmental conditions. Strength to lift up to 80 pounds to shoulder high. Ability to use and operate an aerial bucket truck up to 60 feet. Good ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and comply with all safety rules policies to maintain a safe work environment. Ability to perform manual physical labor in the installation and removal of traffic signs and other traffic control devices. You can work outside in extreme cold and hot and with exposure to noise dust asphalt traffic and heavy construction. Ability to get a Class A Commercial Driver s License with Tanker (N) endorsement within 360 days of hire. (If you don t have it already still apply. You can get it through our On-the-job Training). Safety toe footwear. NotesYour work will be performed without constant supervision and will be evaluated by your supervisor to ensure an efficient use of time and proper operation of repaired maintained Traffic Control Systems. Overtime work is required when necessary and you will be subject to emergency callback. We will conduct a pre-employment drug test and background check with previous employers for the past 2 years about controlled substances alcohol abuse. Education & ExperienceAssociate s degree in Electronics and 1 year experience in the repair and maintenance of specialized electronic devices preferably including some responsibility for circuit modification or An equivalent combination of training and experience.
