I hate posting this. But I am looking for a home for my uncles 9 year old Lab Basset Hound mix. Great with cats and other dogs of all sizes.The dog is elderly and I wish I could keep him. But I simply do not have the time or resources to take care of him long term along with my own dogs.His story is a sad one. My uncle moved and left him behind. Telling the family he would come back in a month to pick up his dog. 3 months later and he has just informed us that we should try to rehomed the dog instead.Again if there was any way I could keep him myself I would. He is the sweetest natured dog. LOVES kids and is so incredibly GENTLE with all ages. He is seriously the best dog I have ever seen around kids. That being said. Remember he is 9 years old. So he has slowed down a bit.Really when I say a bit I mean a small bit ). He loves fetch and he is great at the dog park. He is part Basset Hound so he does woo woo when excited to be at the park or something. He loves both men and women. Has no fear of either.He is good on leash and has never tried to go off my property on his own. Though of course I prefer he go to a home with a fenced in backyard or some sort of tie out. Just so he won t run away. Like I said he has never attempted to run away before. But always better safe then sorry.On that note he has to go to a home where he would be an INDOOR PET. He is perfectly house trained. Will even let your know when he has to go out. It is NON NEGOTIATABLE that he not be an outside dog on a chain or left in cold backyard without contact. He is part Labrador and they THRIVE on human attention and interaction. And this dog is no exception. He NEEDS to be with people.Honestly a home with a older couple or a family with older kids would be ideal. He is neutered. He may be 9 but he runs around and plays as if he were 5. He is not a jumper digger biter or growler.I am only asking a 30 rehoming fee and that you answer any of my questions as honestly as possible. He is a very special dog who deserves a special home that will love him whole heartedly. I will not see him being flipped or sold for bait. He is a good dog in need of a break.
