RARE CIVIL WAR - (CONFEDERATE STATES NAVY) ORIGINAL EXCAVATED BU

A BEAUTIFUL RARE CONFEDERATE OFFICERS COAT BUTTON THE BUTTON REMAINS IN THE CONDITION IT WAS FOUND - EXCELLENT AND NOT CLEANED. THIS COAT BUTTON WAS EXCAVATED FROM THE SAND AT A BEACH JUST BEFORE ENTERING FORT MORGAN AL. AS YOU MAY KNOW FORT MORGAN IS AT THE MOUTH OF MOBILE BAY. IT WAS THE FINAL ENFORCEMENT TO KEEP THE UNION NAVY FROM ENTERING THE BAY. DURING THE WAR THERE WERE MORE THAN FIFTY CONFEDERATE SHIPS (AND OTHERS AS WELL) THAT RAN THE UNION BLOCKADE IN AND OUT OF THE BAY WITH SUPPLIES WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION FOR THE SOUTHERN DEFENSE CAUSE. IN FACT THE BATTLE OF MOBILE BAY WAS ONE OF THE LAST BATTLES OF THE WAR BETWEEN THE STATES - THE CIVIL WAR. JUST THINK ABOUT THE FACTS AND STORIES THE BUTTON COULD RELATE IF ONLY IT COULD SPEAK. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN THIS ITEM.
