Manager - Credit

Job Summary Responsible for managing the credit limit process including establishing credit risk policy and procedures. Proactively minimize the company s financial risk and credit exposure while providing an effective level of support to the Collection Sales and Finance organizations in achieving their volume and financial objectives. Monitor the risk condition and changes within the business environment and the activities of our customers. Review and adjust credit limit strategy for business channels based on economic conditions and historical bad debt write-off statistics. Major Tasks Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Develops recommends and implements policies and procedures for investigating evaluating new and existing customer creditworthiness and extending or revoking credit lines limits. Manages credit personnel including hiring training and daily call order and risk activities. Ensure timely communication with customers and management of job queues. Personally handle key customer accounts. Conducts portfolio and customer account risk analysis. Establishes credit limit and risk scoring models. Develops credit workflows to streamline credit approval process. Performs internal and external economic research and analyzes issues related to specific financial metrics. Recommends changes in financial analysis methods or procedures. Responsible for the preparation and dissemination of reports as directed by management. Nature and Scope Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and or indirectly supervises support staff. Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods business principles and practical experience. Manage a part of a department or a team. Supervise coordinate provide leadership to and review the work of professional and supervisory level subordinates to accomplish operational plans and results. Estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work to subordinates and subunits to meet service and budget targets. Work Environment Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time. Minimum Qualifications Must be eighteen years of age Must pass the Drug Test Must pass the Background Check Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable Education and Experience Typically requires BS BA in related discipline. Generally 7 years experience in related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines. Preferred Qualifications MBA with an emphasis in Finance. Experience in credit risk management functions audit functions and business analysis. Previous management experience. CBF CCE certification preferred. Experience managing a large department. International credit experience. Mechanic Lien and Bond experience within the construction industry. Strong communication skills.
