Original (not a reproduction) mid-1900 s Mahogany Six Spoke Boat Wheel. Based on the design and materials used it was likely built in the mid-1900 s for use on a medium sized pleasure boat. It measures 21 in diameter (handle to handle) x 2 thick with 3 handles. The 3 x 1 brass plated hub has a shaft hole (with two keyways) and a very nice slide-on chrome plated brass cap. The original shaft nut and retaining plate are stored under the cap. The back side of the hub is embossed as follows CANADA M2370-2 plus a K (circled). It is in excellent condition but the varnish on the backside shows moderate exposure to the weather. This nautical artifact is a nice example of excellent Canadian craftsmanship.
