One of our Global reputed IT Consulting client is looking for Sr. Tester (COTS DBMS Rational Tool Exp.) Location Ottawa ON Duration 3 months contract with possible extension MUST HAVES Number of years in this specific category performing activities similar to those described in this table 5 years Recent COTS Software Implementation Project Experience with the last 5 years A minimum of 4 years demonstrable COTS Software implementation project experience. Experience may have been gained working with a different COTS Software product than the proposed COTS Software solution. Reference Projects Required 2 Projects Valid Canadian Federal Government security clearance Responsibilities a) Providing input to the design team to ensure that testing considerations are incorporated in the design (e.g. instrumentation of code for debugging) b) Establishing software-testing procedures for unit test integration testing and regression testing with emphasis on automating the testing procedures c) Overseeing and monitoring of test plans for all levels of testing d) Supporting the acceptance test process e) Establishing a validation and verification capability which assumes functional and performance compliance f) Ensuring that product release bugs and changes are documented tracked managed and resolved g) Interacting with project team members to review functional design specifications and seeking clarification as required to complete test specifications h) Interacting with the project team members to explain faults and review test results as required i) Interacting with the Client Representatives to provide guidance and support during the preparation of acceptance test plans and the acceptance test and j) Experience in proposed DBMS. Must have ability to review and analyze requirements translate information into clear concise test cases identify data requirement execute test cases provide regular status. Must have experience with defect management tools (preference Rational tool suite) ClearQuest Test Manager ClearCase Excel Word SQL Plus. COTS Software Project Implementation Experience The proposed resource should have demonstrated project experience on a minimum of two (2) COTS Software system implementations designing and developing system test plans. Certification In descending order of importance i. In proposed COTS Software (Pension or CRM) ii. In other COTS Software (Pension or CRM) iii. No COTS Software Certification but a minimum of two (2) courses completed in proposed COTS Software iv.
