I am looking for volunteers to participate in my research study. I am a doctoral student in the program in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at the Graduate Center in City University of New York. You will be pressing buttons to certain sounds for one part of the study and will wear the cap with sensors on it using gel and watch a close captioned movie of the other part. The study will take 4-5 hours and the compensation is 10 hr.Participants should 1) be between 20-40 years of age 2) have normal hearing 3) have English Hindi or Tamil as their first language 4) have no history of recurrent middle ear neurological learning problems. The study will examine the brain processing of sound in listeners with normal hearing and in listeners with hearing loss. Results of this study may contribute to improve the clinical management of infants children and adults with hearing loss.
