DIESEL AND TRAILER MECHANICS NEEDED IN SAVANNAH GADIESELPerforms skilled and complicated mechanical work on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with minimum supervision Trouble shooting on major problems Follow a checklist of inspection procedures Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions Read and interpret diagnostic test results often by using dials gauges and computer equipment Raise trucks and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists Inspect brake systems steering mechanisms transmissions and engines Minimum three years of hands-on diesel experience in a related mechanical field or graduate of diesel vocational courses Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil checking batteries and lubricating equipment and parts Adjust and align wheels tighten bolts and screws and attach system components Repair or replace malfunctioning components parts and other mechanical or electrical equipment Disassemble and reassemble equipment and parts TRAILERMaintains diagnoses and repairs trailers and dollies Responsible for ensuring the duties of their position are performed in a safe efficient and effective manner Ensures total customer satisfaction Basic reading and writing skills and follow both oral and written directions Must be able to pass appropriate testing and requirements Must have current valid driver s license Performs inspections required by the company and government entities Performs troubleshooting on DC electrical ABS systems air brakes and suspension Installs and or replaces new repair parts Performs cutting and welding procedures on steel stainless steel and aluminum Has knowledge of using stick welders mig welders and plasma cutters.
