KEY REQUIREMENTS Must pass pre-employment examination Designated and or Random Drug Testing required Background and or Security Investigation required Must be proficient in written and spoken English Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12 31 1959 DUTIES Tour of Duty 7 30 a.m. 4 00 p.m. (Monday -Friday) The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System is seeking a full-time Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) that will be part of the Clinic Management and Access Training Team (CMATT). The CNL will be responsible and accountable for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care. The CMATT CNL will work with the PACT and or Specialty team to facilitate access to care and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Applies the nursing process and care management principles within a collaborative interdisciplinary practice setting which will then enable effective implementation of health promotion and prevention practices management of acute and chronic illnesses and attainment of appropriate access to clinical appointments and clinic flow. The CMATT CNL will also assist with meeting Performance Measures provide data to various teams within Ambulatory Care and leadership and lead clinics in PDSA improvement cycles. The CMATT CNL will work collaboratively with the clinic staff and the clinical Nurse Manager when meeting the core functions which include consult management adherence to mandatory scheduling practices clinic efficiency daily weekly monitoring for access assessment of staff needs to determine the most appropriate use of expertise in clinical coordination staff education attention to systems issues that require intervention and quality and performance measures. The Clinical Nurse Leader is an advanced generalist clinician with education at the master s or post master s level in a formal CNL education program. Graduate education is necessary because the CNL must bring a high level of competence and knowledge to the point of care and serve as a resource for the nursing team. This Master s degree-prepared clinician puts evidence-based practice into action to ensure that patients benefit from the latest innovations in care delivery. Required Qualifications MSN with board certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader BLS and ACLS. Preferred Qualifications 3-5 years medical surgical nursing experience. Expertise that demonstrates leadership and self-direction in current nursing practice. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional philanthropic religions spiritual community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
