This role is part of a highly visible team that is tasked with growth acceleration and reinventing customer experience for Marriott What you will do Build out team capabilities develop DS process outline technology requirements and develop data science roadmap Enhance capabilities needed to serve our global customers at scale in a data-driven personal and relevant way Understand the biggest areas of opportunity for the application of DS and ML develop engines and services value propositions positioning and messaging that are differentiated clear defensible and impactful to the Marriott business across channels Hire and train talent to develop data science products in house end to end Create and facilitate agile DS process to enable efficient DS lifecycle in partnership with technology and data org Lead enterprise efforts to bring in new DS technologies frameworks and methodologies to scale data science models through distributed computing Evolve applications of advanced analytics machine learning tools data sources talent and partners by incessantly bringing external best practices and trends Evangelize adoption of advanced analytics and pervasive data-driven thinking in Marriott culture Work effectively with stakeholders to understand ambiguous business problems assess data needs develop maintain best suited models and help strategize deploying them in production What we are looking for PhD or equivalent experience in Computer science Applied Mathematics Engineering Statistics Operations Research or related quantitative fields 7 years of hands on experience in machine learning (supervised unsupervised and ensemble methods) natural language processing computer vision deep learning experience is a bonus Proven track record of developing scaling and implementing these models in customer facing environments Strong programming skills R Python Java etc along with stellar visualization and persuasive story telling Experience with big data and cluster computing environments Tools knowledge you need SQL R Python Hive Spark Tableau R Shiny D3 Git Jira CORE WORK Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders Understands and meets the needs of key stakeholders.
