LOCATION Batavia SALARY 19.72 hour The New York State School for the Blind in Batavia is seeking to fill a Nurse 1 Substitute position. The Nurse 1 Substitute will be responsible for the health care of students in the absence of regular staff. Duties will include carrying out clinic rounds recording and giving medications promptly assessing health program for service delivery observing and recording symptoms of illness accurately and objectively treating problems from standing orders maintaining specific health records and reports on each student and communicating appropriately with students direct care staff parents and other health agencies with tact confidence and in concert with school procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered professional nurse (RN) in New York State. Incumbent must have the ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting of children. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Fingerprinting through the Department of Criminal Justice Services a background check with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and clearance from the Justice Center Staff Exclusion List are required for employment.
