Marvelous Mid Century Iginga Lega Bwami Society Figure Statue in Very Good Condition. Measures approximately 9 1 2 Tall. Comes with a black base. Figure can be removed from base as seen in photo. Base measures approximately 3 1 4 Long X 1 3 4 Wide X 3 4 High. Among the Lega the possession of Figural Sculptures are the prerogative of the members of the bwami association. This particular Anthropomorphic Figure is an unusual example carved in wood and has Kaolin applied to the face which indicates beauty and goodness. Iginga is a generic Lega term for human figurines owned by the highest-ranking members of Bwami. Very Good Vintage Condition with the usual signs of age and wear.
