LANTERN - Nautical - Starboard Navagation - 10½" Brass

I am offering a early 1900s Starboard Navigation (Running) Lantern which is required on all vessels while underway at night. The 112 dioptric green lens has turned to a bluish green because of the manganese used as the glass clearing agent between 1860 and 1915. Based on the quality design and materials used it was most likely built in the early 1900s and still has original Wilcox Crittenden manufacturer s tag attached to the back.. The lantern is made of brass and galvanized tin measuring 10 tall x 7 wide x 5 deep. It is the Hurricane Tested model which has the original font tank with a P& A Waterbury burner (with wick) plus 110V electric lighting including a 64 power cord and in-line switch. This nautical artifact is a prime example of the superior U.S. craftsmanship during this era. Additional Nautical Items Available - Please Call Cliff (at) 760-942-2025 For More Information.
