Dear Madam or Sir I am not a professional nanny. I am instead mother of 4 wonderful children of my own who are now grown. I stayed at home with my children full-time in their early childhood years and then homeschooled them for several years. Because of my college emphasis in early childhood education I tried to provide my children with a large variety of constructive learning and play activities including outdoor activities children s art activities reading stories and other hand-on activities. In our home I promoted learning in a more informal style especially in my children s younger years. Excellent vocabulary comprehension and other language skills can be developed simply through quality of daily conversation with a child and time spent reading stories. Early math skills can be learned in the kitchen and other simple ways at home or on the go. Thinking skills grow with a thoughtful cooperative approach to a child s daily joys and trials in the home....
