Engineering Designer

SUMMARY The Engineering Designer will develop designs for new products and revise designs for existing products meeting established quality and performance standards. This is a contract opportunity with the possibility of being hired in at the end of the contract. RESPONSIBILITIES Analyzes designs for proper form fit and function including basic manufacturability assembly disassembly and use using design software to ensure design and documentation of new and existing products meet established quality and performance standards. Develops designs of moderate complexity from ideas or requirements as presented by engineer needs statement or project team ensuring quality standards are met Develops engineering layouts for projects of moderate scope and complexity using appropriate Computer Aided Design (CAD) to accurately present design concept Researches materials common or generic parts and engineering standards for designs to provide complex ideas or requirements as presented by engineer needs statement or project team. Prepares engineering documentation including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) Bills of Material (BOMs) parts lists engineering specifications and other supporting forms to maintain clear project documentation. Develops engineering layouts assembles prototypes using power and hand tools and moving parts weighing up to 100 pounds and provides time estimates for design activities to accurately present design concept. Provides time estimates for design activities and task related progress reports for current design projects to make necessary adjustments to meet time requirements QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree in engineering or related field 4 years of product design experience CAD and PC-based design experience MANAGEMENT BUSINESS SOLUTIONS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
