Compensation Depending on Experience We are an established yet growing full-service mixed animal veterinary clinic in Yakima WA looking for candidates who bring a great deal of positive energy and enthusiasm to their job Must be a team player and have excellent customer service skills. The Veterinary Technician will assist doctors in the exam rooms and the surgery area along with providing miscellaneous medical services for the hospital. This position will also assist with front office duties as well when needed. The range of duties include but are not limited to -- Assist doctors and team members with treatment of animals seen in the exam rooms as well as those being hospitalized for treatments or surgery. -- For our canine feline and equine patients have the ability to perform blood draws place IV catheters take radiographs give injections and vaccines SQ fluids express a-al glands clipping and scrubbing wounds and provide restraint when needed. -- Skilled at dental prophylaxis anesthetic monitoring triage and proficiency with microscopic exams such as fecals and urinalyses required. Minimum of 2 years technical work experience in this field preferred but exceptional new graduates may be considered. Must be available to start work at 7 30 am Mondays through Fridays. Must have equine handling experience. Must be capable of standing for long hours bending going up and down stairs and no trouble lifting up to 40 lbs. Spanish-speaking not required but is a plus We offer our staff time off on most major holidays and although we are not open on Sat Sun there is the opportunity for a rotating emergency on-call schedule on weekends.
