Touching Triton provides an opportunity for teachers and students to have an engaging conversation about the complex nature of common disease in 1 classroom period. This web-based activity builds understanding of common complex disease risk influenced by factors from family history environment and genomic data. Students synthesize data from these sources to inform lifestyle choices and medical intervention strategies in the setting of a long-duration space flight mission. While the story line of Touching Triton is very interdisciplinary the core learning concepts of the activity rest within the courses listed below.
