CUSTODIAN (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY) Monthly Salary Range 2098- 2625 LEAD CUSTODIAN (CORRECTIONAL FACILITY) Monthly Salary Range 2252- 2819 POSITIONS CURRENTLY EXIST STATEWIDE WITH THE CALIFORNIA PRISON INDUSTRY AUTHORITY The California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is conducting a Training and Experience Assessment (on-line exam) on behalf of the California Prison Industry Authority (CALPIA) for both the Custodian (CF) and Lead Custodian (CF) classifications. This is a civil service exam process. Successful competitors will be placed on an employment list for future vacancies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS CUSTODIAN (CF) Either I Six (6) months of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Service Assistant (Custodian). Or II Six (6) months of experience as a custodian. LEAD CUSTODIAN (CF) Either I One (1) year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Custodian (Correctional Facility) or Custodian. Or II Experience Two (2) years of experience in janitorial work one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity over other employees and with responsibility for the janitorial work in an office or similar building and Education Equivalent to completion of the eighth grade (8th). (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for year basis). APPLICATION DEADLINE TESTING PERIOD Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis. All applicants must meet the education and or experience requirements for this examination at the time he or she files his or her application. The testing period for this examination is six (6) months. Once you have taken the Training and Experience Assessment examination you may not retest for six (6) months. HOW TO APPLY The Application and Training and Experience Assessment can be obtained on the internet by connecting to cphcs.hodesiq.com bl_joblist.asp. Applicants respond to questions regarding their ability to meet minimum qualifications provide contact information and take the Training and Experience Assessment. An application form for Custodian (CF) & Lead Custodian (CF) is contained within the internet process therefore a standard State application (STD 678) is not necessary. If you do not have internet access there are public access internet terminals in over 150 California public libraries. Contact your local library for information as to where the nearest internet terminal is located and the policies related to usage. PLEASE NOTE THE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE ASSESSMENT FOR THE LEAD CUSTODIAN (CF) WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON-LINE UNTIL AFTER 5 P.M. NOVEMBER 1 2013.
