Job Title Special Makeup Effects Instructor Effective date Winter Spring 2014 Position Summary In a manner which is consistent with the mission of the organization the instructor will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the classroom and the delivery of curriculum and practical course materials. The instructor is responsible to assist every student in achieving success in the course programs. Job Description Reporting to the Academic Head the incumbent will instruct classes in Film and Television SPFX Makeup Prosthetics and Creature Design courses. Duties include Ensure compliance with College Policies and Procedures. Lecture and demonstrate the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities approved curriculum. Manage the class facilities opening closing visual displays class stock and supplies and manage lunch and break schedules. Maintain a clean and safe working environment for students. Oversee photo shoots. Maintain student marks and attendance administration. Instruct and monitor students in the use of power tools machinery and laboratory equipment and materials. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Expert in design sculpting mould making painting and application of Prosthetic Appliances for Film and Television. Participate in formal and informal collaboration opportunities to facilitate the sharing of knowledge skills and information to expand the curriculum. Represent the college at public events from time to time. Perform certain pastoral duties including but not limited to student support counseling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement. Participate in monthly staff meetings and skills workshops. Qualifications C College or University degree in related field Makeup Arts Sculpture Arts Education C Minimum ten years experience as Special Effects Film Makeup Artist. C Asset (not required) experience working teaching in a college environment. C Notable Film Credits Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work in an environment where a diversity of people and situations are encountered. Demonstrated ability to work collegially in an environment of competing deadlines and priorities. Strong leadership ability.
