In honor of the great Scottish poet Robert Burns birthday this will be a potluck vegan Burns Night dinner and ceilidh The hosts might even make vegan haggis All potluck contributions should be typical of the British Isles (but vegan ). Also unusual for a Burns Night this event will be whiskey-free. Attendees are welcome to bring beer or wine for personal consumption but please do bring food as well. Tea will be provided. CEILIDH (pron. kaylee) means self-generated entertainment from the days before radio TELEVISION and smartphones. After dinner everyone will be expected to entertain the group so come prepared to sing a Scottish song recite a Burns poem play a Scottish tune on a portable instrument that you bring OR tell a Scottish or Irish joke Rule of thumb expect to fill three to 5 minutes but we won t be using a timer.
