LANTERN - Nautical - Port/Starboard Navagation - 9½"

Refurbished Brass Port Starboard Navigation Lantern. Lanterns of this type were usually mounted midships on a smaller vessel and lighted while underway at night. Based on the design craftsmanship and materials used it appears a copy of a Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corporation Lantern and built in the late 1900 s. The quality is not up to the PERKO standards but is is not a cheap reproduction. This lantern measures 9 tall x 5 wide x 5 deep and weighs 2 pounds. It has both 3 x 4 (green and red) dioptric (ribbed) lenses. Also the lighting is 110 volt with an in-line switch and bulb. The lenses have some color lamination loss two very slight stress cracks in the brass chimney and the slide-in divider shade is missing. This Lantern does not appear to have seen any sea duty and is a very nice unique nautical item to display.
