Job Summary To complete the daily assigned shift duties of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current federal state and local regulations and facility policies procedures as assigned or directed by the Housekeeping Laundry Supervisor and or Facility Administrator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions and task specific functions as assigned including but not limited to cleaning dusting polishing sanitizing furnishings fixtures ledges windows mirrors bathroom fixtures floors carpets walls ceilings hallways stairways etc. Ensure that cleaning schedules are followed as closely and completely as practical. Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when cleaning in or near resident living and or recreational areas. Wear and or use proper safety equipment when working with supplies and cleaning agents (gloves goggles etc). Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in safe clean and pleasant manner. Keep work areas free of potentially hazardous items materials (mop handles obstructing carts chemicals cleaning agents etc). Follow established rules and requirements regarding labels and MSDSs. Ensure that established infection control and universal precaution procedures are followed. Follow established policies regarding the proper disposal of refuse and protective materials. Keep supervisor informed of equipment needs malfunctions and supply needs. Report all on-the-job injuries to supervisor immediately. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information. Honor residents rights.
