Reproduction of a English Quartermaster s Telescope which is usually used by the quartermaster detailed to steer the ship. This spyglass is much better then the current China reproductions. It measures 28 < 32 in length has a 2 aperture (object end) and weighs 2 pounds. The main tube is wrapped with leather which has been refinished. The draw tube is signed W OTTWAY & CO. LTD LONDON . Based on the design craftsmanship and materials used it was probably made in India. The scope seems to focus OK with a clear view except for a small spot on one lens which does not appear to be a chip. This nautical item displays nicely and actually works.
