Desperate Need Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary

I.S.H.A.S. is a wonderful animal sanctuary in Port Clinton Ohio. As soon as you walk in the doors you see a home environment with pups greeting you. The walls are covered with pictures of the beautiful dogs that have been adopted thus far. The owner Nancy B has used all of her retirement money to create a safe and loving sanctuary for both dogs and cats. To this date they have saved 343 animals. Pets that were abandoned by owners and some left to die. Most have needed medical attention on arrival no dog or cat has been turned away no matter what the circumstance. Even rescues from puppy mills have been a common saving grace by I.S.H.A.S. Unfortunately now after the holidays when people begin to settle from the giving season I.S.H.A.S. is coming up short. There is no money left to pay expenses. They have even turned to the local Toledo news station which has sadly failed. They are truly being faced with the reality that the animals they have promised a warm loving safe environment may be taken away as soon as tomorrow. Those animals some that have never known love are now being treated the way they deserve. They don t know tomorrow may bring another repeat of losing hope and faith in humans again even after I.S.H.A.S has done everything in their power to prevent this. Animals do not understand. They don t know that money is tight they don t know that it hurts Nancy and the other animal lovers that work at I.S.H.A.S. to even think about losing out on this wonderful home for broken and beaten animals. They do know the difference of having someone love them and then them disappearing. Nancy is fully devoted a mother to all her animals. She works long days much too often she drives hours to rescue dogs and cats and losing I.S.H.A.S. is posing a major effect on her well-being. If you can only donate a dollar please do not hesitate. I love I.S.H.A.S. and the people and animals behind the name. I cannot watch these giving people lose their fight to keep a sanctuary that is overly spectacular open to care for helpless pets in our area. I pray that the right person or maybe even people read this and help the sanctuary continue. I have reached out to family and friends who have donated but that money goes fast. I have also turned to many organizations that offer grants and support only to be told they were overpopulated with requests. This request can wait no longer. This request is a life or death love or abandonment situation for the dogs and cats who are finally happy at I.S.H.A.S. Please help them each penny will be appreciated for more than it is worth.
