Refurbished matching Barometer & Temperature Humidity Gage Set mounted on a wood base. Both brass cases were built by the world famous Salem Clock Company while the three instruments were made by Taylor Instruments who are still producing high quality measurement products. Based on the quality design and materials used this unit was likely built in the mid-1900 s. Each solid brass case with eight spokes measure 6 wide x 2 deep and are mounted in a 14 wide x 2 deep x 3 tall wood stand. Both brass cases have 3 convex (domed) glass windows and the 3 faces are signed SALEM and Taylor . The barometer pressure scale reads from 26 to 32 pounds per square inch and has the usual rising and falling conditions indicated. The Humidiguide includes a 20 to 120 degree Fahrenheit temperature unit plus a humidity unit which has a 0% to 100% scale. The stand has a very unique art deco design which includes a brass emblem showing an eagle atop a large ornate W . The 14 x mahogany base has a brass braided rope inlaid into the front and side edges plus four inserted wood feet. The original label is still attached to the bottom side which indicates that the wood is genuine West Indies African solid mahogany. The cradle holding the cases is wood covered Formica which is not lose or chipped but has a few minor scratches. Overall the unit measures 14 wide x 3 deep x 6 high and is in very good condition considering its advanced age. All the gauges in this his unique 2 pound collectible appear to be functioning reasonably well but there is no assurance that they will after shipping.
