Historic World War I President Signed Document

This is a presentation condolence document issued by and signed by the President of France at the end of the war. Presented to the family of Pfc. Stuart M. Herrington company G 138 infantry U. S. Army. I have never seen one of these in forty years of collecting. They would by nature be rare as so may died in France form a half dozen countries. He must have done something extrodanary for his family to recieve this. The President of France signed it just below the last printed words at the bottom. It is on quality heavy paper and has some cracking being rolled up so many years but when laid out flat andframed this can hardly be seen. It is 12 by 20.4 inches long.
