Agricultural Exhibition

Experience an old-fashioned agricultural exhibition complete with demonstrations of early New England farm equipment period craftsmen and displays of Village-grown heirloom vegetables herbs and flowers as well as heritage breed farm animals. On Sunday see the Village ox teams compete with visiting teams in plowing matches and cart competitions. Tour the Village root cellar and learn how they were used. Demonstrations and hands-on activities get visitors close to the action. See ox-powered apple grinding (Saturday) and pressing (Sunday) at the Cider Mill. Watch field mowing or assist with plowing and grain threshing. Watch butter cheese and ice cream being made. Help knit or crochet scarves for soldiers through Knitting for a Cause.
