Manufacturing company located in city of Costa Mesa CA seeks for Tool Setter for the 1st shift. Salary range 12.50- 14.00 1st shift 6am-2 30pm Job Summary Under moderate supervision set-up tools assemblies per dispatch list. Operate Tool Presetter and related controls. Check tools and tool assemblies for wear as well as clean and maintain them. Perform related job duties as assigned. Reports to Department Supervisor or Manager. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Set up tool assemblies from components per written instruction. Check tools for worn or damaged components. Maintain accurate tool list by interacting with the operator Lead person and programmer. Obtain and return work supplies from tool crib as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Maintain equipment so that it is always in good operating conditions. Operate the computer terminal to maintain accurate production records. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES Any combination equivalent of but not limited to the following Experience Training Education Considerable experience and training in cutting tools and setting them up operating and adjusting Presetter experience with the use of computer software relative to tool setting and scheduling. Knowledge Skills Abilities Basic knowledge of methods and techniques for operating CNC mills and lathes related cutting tools. Basic knowledge of tool grinding to the extent of being able to recognize dull tools. Basic knowledge and ability to operate a computer. Knowledge of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations necessary for setting tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints to maintain quality and conformity of cutting tools. Ability to use precision measurement and hand tools. Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others. Physical Requirements Ability to bend stoop stretch lift move and carry tooling and materials weighing 25 pounds or less ability to move heavier objects using mechanical devices or with the assistance of co-workers and ability to reach equipment control settings. Special Requirements Steel toe safety work shoes acceptable set of machinist tools may be required.
