We are offering a part-time position for someone who enjoys reading and reviewing books. The successful candidate must live in Manhattan and will host one book club meeting per month for our local groups on Meetup.com in midtown. The Organizer will write a review of the books discussed at the meetings and manage the content of the groups websites.Responsibilities Hosting Meetings Secure a venue for the monthly meeting - cafe bar or restaurant Schedule the meeting with members Create an online poll for members vote on which book the group will read. Contact author of winning book to obtain a free copy and request author to attend meeting. Read & review selected book for website and club meeting. Prepare a list of questions to keep discussion at meeting moving. Take photos of each meeting. Meetings have a social hour after the book discussion. Website Generate prescribed content for website (cover reveal author interview book review) Add group photos to book reviews. Promotion & social media. Requirements College degree in English lit journalism creative writing preferred. Experience with WordPress or other blogging platforms. Access to transportation - car or public transport. Must live in Manhattan Laptop with WiFi built-in mic and camera. Digital camera - 5 megapixels or higher Able to host one meeting per month - same week of each month w flexibility Paypal account to receive payments. Compensation Base pay - 50 per month Affiliate income - variable. Based upon recent experience we estimate the Book Reviewer Book Club Organizer s monthly income should be between 200 and 500 per month once the group gains traction (est. 2 - 3 months).
