M F D VSummary Lead Machinist Journey persons assist Tool Room in light machining duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop and fabricate tooling as assigned. Log in work orders for Shaft area. Coordinate activities within Shaft area. Assign work to Production Machinists. Monitor work area and coach and advise Machinist Journeypersons. Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings. Perform projects assigned by Tool Die Mold Maker Journeypersons. Assist Tool room CNC programmer set-up run and install programs on CNC equipment. Create tooling and fixturing for Manufacturing Engineers. Perform preventative maintenance on department machinery and equipment. Maintain and update E-Maint program. Assist Tool Room Supervisor with administrative tasks.To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Qualifications Education and or Experience Swing Shift Required 3pm-11 30pm with overtime available High School Diploma or GED required One-year certificate from college or technical school or three to five years related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of 4 year Apprenticeship Program Prior experience machining parts using a CNC machine (grinder lathe etc...)
