And can learn more about us by going to PCSAR.ORG Colorado Gives Day Dec.9th 2014 ColoradoGives.org PCSAR is 100% volunteers who donate time for training and missions to respond to emergencies in the back country. Out team relies on donations fundraisers and grants to accomplish our mission. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR OUR SERVICES. And a lot of People come from Denver and surrounding areas and plan a day outing to go hiking in the mountains. They dont think they need much or bring warm clothes as they say hey i should be just fine for short hike. But sometimes they go off trail to site see And they lose their way back getting lost even further or maybe while off the trail they get hurt & cant walk back. And then family starts missing you and calls the sheriff saying hey my son went up this trail and never came back we looked but couldnt find him. This is when we come in Sheriff calls us we organize our team and plan the area we need to search. which a person lost can walk miles. So we do everything we can and will go out looking for that lost person giving our time and all we can to find them and bring them back. Operations Our main program of course is rescuing those in need in the back-country. In 2013 PCSAR responded to 63 missions which were facilitated by 1 277 man hours. Park County from Pine Junction to Trout Creek Pass and Guffey to Lake George is our primary search area and focus. However we also assisted with 11 mutual aid missions outside of our county. As members of the Colorado Search and Rescue Board (CSRB) part of our operations program includes assisting other counties upon request.
