This is a Zelanda metric US 297 transmission tool for now antique VW s. It was My fathers and I don t know much about it. Its called a ring gear adjusting device for adjusting the ring gear and for various operations on the transmission . It appears to be complete and considering that it is pushing 50 yrs old in terrific condition. (see pix) I found this info by googling zelanda metric US 297 this brings up usually the 1st entry a site www.thesamba.com vw etc. etc. you can find the text on pg. thirteen and an illustration on pg. 71. I found 1 on a vw hoby site for 500 But that may be ridiculous. As a matter of fact 300 my be ridiculous but as someone who appreciates good tools it seems fair to me.
