Our client is a well-established bank located in Downtown Toronto. They are looking for a Risk Rating Specialist (Banking exp) Duration It is a 6 months contract role with the Potential extension Multiple positions available Location Downtown Toronto Hours between- 9am- 6pm Interpret financial statements (Balance Sheet Income Statements and Statement of Cash Flows) of privately held companies and input the results into a software system. Generate the financial reports and BRR (Borrower Risk Rating Score). Return these results to the Commercial and Agriculture branches across the country. - Use combination of GAAP notes to financial statements and overarching guidelines to correctly identify and input values from financial statements into the Risk Rating model. - Generate a BRR (Borrower Risk Rating) calculation for each request based on inputs. - Apply requested adjustments to financial statements and create a revised set of financial statements and BRR rating. - Understand intercompany transactions and apply the elimination of same to combine financial statements from multiple companies. Technical skills -Professional Accounting designation or experience in Finance will be preferred - Financial Banking exp is an asset - Knowledge of accounting basics (flows between Balance Sheet Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flow) - Read and understand financial statements (company prepared notice to reader review engagement and audited) - Working knowledge of standard Microsoft desktop software specifically Outlook Excel and Word. - Working knowledge of Adobe. - Moody s Risk Analyst (preferred but not necessary). Soft Skills - Keen attention to detail. - Strong organizational and time-management skills - Ability to work in a high pressure environment while ensuring work is of high quality - Problem solving ability - Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team - Excellent verbal and written communication skills and inter-personal skills Education Experience Education or work experience with a specialization in accounting is preferred.
