Non-smokers only please ResponsibilitiesThis job carries a huge responsibility. Employees are responsible for working as a team to safely care for up to 60 dogs at a time in a group setting. It is at times both physically & mentally stressful. It is HARD work. Our dogs need constant supervision and care. Your brain must be able to multi-task in a chaotic environment. You will be expected to learn each dog s name their personalities and behaviors and what works best for each one (for example discipline calming them down etc.). Although it is a very intense environment if you have a genuine compassion for dogs this can alsobe a very rewarding experience. You will come to know and love our dogs and they will learn to trust love and depend on you right back.Supervising the dogs is the primary function of this position. Other duties may include cleaning laundry bathing dogs carrying or moving large bags of dog food as well as various other items associated with the care of the dogs.QualificationsMust be RELIABLE to work when scheduledMust be able to work weekends and holidaysMust be able to work in extreme weather conditions -- hot cold rain snow etc.Must be physically able to handle the work including lifting up to 40 poundsMust be able to be on your feet 5 hours or more each dayMust have genuine compassion for dogs as well as great patienceMust be able to multi-task in a chaotic environmentMust be willing to accept whatever task is needed of them dailyMust be willing to be w dogs for 5 -- 10 hours per dayMust be able to control large dogs (physically if necessary)Must be able to care for dogs as if they are your ownMust be able to read and understand feeding and medication instructionsMust be able to fill in charts with feeding medication behavior notesMust be prepared for continuous poop scoopingMust be able to work in a team environmentPlease do NOT apply if You have lots of personal drama that affects your ability to work when scheduledYou are (or might be) allergic to dogsYou don t think you can stay employed with us for longer than a month or two.We prefer people to stay long term.
