Duration 12 Months with possible extension Location Downtown Toronto RESOURCE DESCRIPTION The Data Warehouse Architect is responsible for the overall design of the warehouse and mapping the business requirements to technical requirements. He will work as a team member along with the Architecture team delivery team business project stakeholders vendors developers and testers to deliver the Enterprise Data Warehouse. He will provide both the technical leadership and accountability for the overall success of an engagement s efforts including architecture design development testing and deployment for the solution. MUST HAVES 7-10 years of experience in designing and building large enterprise Data warehouse. Experience with Data Modeling & DW Solutions. Hands on experience to deliver Entity relationship diagram and logical data model Dimensional data model and ETL Detailed Design . Experience with tools and technologies including Erwin Netezza Oracle Hadoop SQL Server Datastage etc. Experience in writing the RFP and evaluating vendor solution proposals. Collaborative personality able to engage in interactive discussions with the vendors project team and senior executives. Proficient in application software architecture (Definition Business Process Modeling etc.). Experience using Impala Hive Pig and Python. Experience ingesting external data to Hadoop environments using SQOOP and Flume. Experience working with very large data sets including knowledge of how to build programs that leverage the parallel capabilities of Hadoop. Experience working with high volume data exchange and transaction processing systems preferably in a custom software development environment. Experience writing well documented architect documentation. Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively both verbally and in writing Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile Methodologies. Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible to meet business objectives with existing or emerging technologies and work on issues with broad technical or strategic implications. Responsible to build relationship with the internal clients vendors Architect team and project team. Increase the confidence in the data warehouse in the organization. Deliver and Maintain Architect Deliverables such as Solution Blueprint Enterprise Data Model ETL Solution Design adherence to a set of guiding principles for data warehousing. Present architecture deliverables and obtain approvals from Client s Architecture Business and senior executives following the Client s process and methodology in a timely manner. Provide technical assistance advice and guidance to Business Technology Services (BTS) staff and business users in response to enquiries on the functionality of BI ETL tools and data in EIW and related datamarts to ensure efficient and un-interrupted IM services to the business users. Candidate should be conversant with DW methodologies and job design with a sound knowledge and experience of integrating input jobs from disparate systems and be able to maintain the Boards standard of DW & ETL best practices.
