Several breeding quality roosters available Red Orpington Jubilee Orpington Crested Cream Legbar Orpingtons are dual purpose very large birds that are prolific layers of large cream colored eggs. They are exceptionally hardy during the winter months. The Red is one of the original varieties of Orpingtons and is very striking with its deep rich color. The Jubilee was named to mark the 1897 Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria and is a beautiful mahagony with black spangling and white feather tips. Both of these roosters are gentle and calm and would make great additions to an existing flock or a great start to a new flock. The Red is 20 and the Jubilee is 25. Crested Cream Legbars are the most popular auto-sexing chicken breed in the world. They are medium-sized fowl that are known for their active foraging and ability to survive in a free-range environment. The roosters are vigilant and protective of the hens but we have had no problems with any aggression towards people in fact this breed is quite curious and our breeders have been easily trained to eat treats from our hands. The hens are rarely broody and produce a large number of pastel blue eggs. Cream Legbar eggs are often deceptive in their appearance they tend to be more spherical than most chicken eggs and because of this they look shorter and therefore smaller but if you weigh the eggs you will find they nicely compare to other breeds. This rooster is from the renowned line of Crested Cream Legbars bred in England by Jill Rees. Birds from her flock consistently win top ribbons in the major UK poultry shows including the National Poulry Show of Great Britain. This rooster who has the desired coloring of a correct Cream Legbar would make an excellent addition to an existing flock and could help improve the coloring associated with the earlier imports of Cream Legbars (too much chestnut in the males gold instead of cream on the female s hackels).
