Assistant Chief Engineer Lahaina HI Position Summary Perform all engineering requirements including but not limited planning scheduling estimating assigning coordinating and supervising all engineers work in progress including contracted work and labor. Preventive Maintenance cleaning and repair of the hotel building HVAC facilities and grounds including all major utility and central plant equipment and portable equipment pertinent to the operation. Research plan coordinate and schedule projects as directed by Director of Facilities. Conduct training for all AOAO department team members to ensure compliance with the company s Policy and Procedures including the engineering department SOPs compliance to OSHA Safety Standards and requirements. Conduct additional trade skill training specifically in the industrial construction and mechanical trades. Position Responsibilities Assign all unit work orders to engineering staff. This includes but not limited to analyzing and repairing plumbing electrical heating and air conditioning malfunctions and carpentry repairs. Audit repairs and maintenance tasks performed by team ensuring satisfactory and timely completion of all work orders. Ensure grounds maintenance duties are assigned and completed. This includes but not limited to weeding trimming and unloading trash cans into dumpsters. Ensure all common areas are maintained and in proper operating condition. This include but is not limited to pools public restrooms front entrance and lobby areas meeting rooms fitness center parking lots walkways elevators. Responsible for hotel equipment & HVAC maintenance program. This includes but not limited to back of house areas roof top below building restaurant and office equipment lighting and gas equipment. Responsible for organization and maintenance of all engineering workshop tool and parts storage and inventory. Order supplies and safeguard all supplies equipment and tools. Responsible to develop train and enforce safety programs. Attend pertinent inner and inter department meetings applicable to the engineering operations. Research plan projects and repairs and provide direction for the engineering staff to achieve engineering department goals. Enforce engineering department and company Policy and Procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High School diploma. Minimum two years if college or completion of vocational training or equivalent in any of the trade fields of electrical HVAC architectural engineering or plumbing field preferred Prior attendant at Management Seminars and Workshops required. Minimum seven (7) years experience in an engineering and maintenance environment and minimum 3 years experience in a leadership supervisory position. Fully knowledgeable and experience with facility central plant operation and equipment (HVAC Refrigeration Low and High Electrical heating System Plumbing Gas Water & Sewage and Emergency and Safety Compliance Safety Standards EPA Standards and Pertinent Governmental Standards as applicable to Engineering and Building Facility Maintenance and repair. Computer literate with knowledge in Microsoft Excel & Word and other applicable maintenance software. This includes ability to create spreadsheets and word documents to include proposals. Demonstrable skills and understanding of accounting and purchasing policy and procedures applicable to the Engineering Department. High level organizational skills and be able to maintain files and documents applicable to the engineering operation. Able to conduct meetings and communicate with confidence within the engineering department and interdepartmentally with department managers supervisors line staff and guests. Able to safely operate hand tools including major and minor machinery. Able to read work orders blueprints and schematics. Hands-on experience in specific trade skills including commercial and industrial equipment and machinery. Knowledgeable in equipment and HVAC preventive maintenance program standards and procedures.
