If this sounds like the place for you join us. The Corporate Facilities located at 10400 Fernwood Road Bethesda MD 20817 is currently hiring a eLearning Instructional Designer. Responsibilities include Job Summary Works independently to design and develop engaging e-learning or blended modules by performing the following - Conducts performance and learning analyses to assess business needs to determine appropriate blended training delivery options to consist of instructor-led web-based online performance support and or job aids). - Collaborates with others (i.e. subject matter experts stakeholders etc.) to develop high-level and detailed design specifications storyboards prototypes and design interactions. General Contributions Responds to solves and makes decisions on more complex non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk and escalates when necessary. Responsible for own work and contributing to team department and or business results. May direct work of non-management staff and or external vendor resources. Assists other associates in achieving business results by Identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes. Providing training and technical guidance and serving as point-of-contact for technical questions. Performs other duties as appropriate. Specific Expected Contributions (including duties and responsibilities) Applies learning best practices standards and processes to maximize effectiveness of training and support solutions Acts as an Instructional Design Specialist building and introducing high quality cost-effective learning products programs and services for a variety of delivery methods including eLearning and blended solutions to meet business needs. Acts as a trusted advisor consultant to the client. Construct outlines and design documents (both High Level and Detailed designs) Creates storyboards for prototypes and learning deliverables Researches latest technologies Defines strategy and approach for evaluation of training and support solutions Create formats templates and standards Prepare presentations spreadsheets and reports Work with vendors to ensure program deliverables meet requirements Coordinate stakeholder reviews and incorporate reviewer feedback Conducts user and pilot testing and performs quality assurance reviews Candidate Profile Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate strong leadership and relationship skills as follows Minimum of2 years experience or more in applying instructional design and adult learning principles in training e-learning Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and or other applications to create graphics animation audio video etc. multimedia elements Proficiency in multiple authoring tools (e.g. Flash and ActionScript Lectora Captivate Articulate Storyline and or Camtasia) to develop interactive multimedia learning modules Ability to provide creative design and technology solutions to different and changing learning requirements Ability to work independently handle multiple projects in a timely manner and adhere to deadlines and project plans effectively Excellent detail-orientation and organizational skills Motivated to stay updated regarding emerging e-learning designs and technologies Able to learn and apply new software or other technologies quickly Education BA BS (or equivalent) required in Instructional Design or Instructional Educational Technology Strong industry expertise with technology learning solutions and developments Advanced degree in Instructional Design or Instructional Educational Technology a plus Experience Minimum of 2 years experience with technology-based design development tools (e.g. Macromedia Captivate Flash Storyline and or Adobe Suite) Hands-on experience with projects from needs analysis through development implementation and evaluation Skills and Knowledge Experience knowledge with the instructional systems design lifecycle In-depth technical experience knowledge in technology-based design development tools (e.g. Macromedia Captivate Flash and Adobe Suite) Instructional design practices and methodology Performance learning analysis Project Management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks projects Problem Solving (Creativity) Communications (Listening Persuasiveness Oral Written Presentation skills) Social Skills (Team Orientation Judgment Interpersonal Relations Results Goal Orientation Resiliency Adaptability) Attributes Collaborative team player builds relationships with ease Analytical Problem solver Creativity Innovative Comfortable with complexity ambiguity and change Agile learner Multi-tasker Comfortable working in a matrixed organization Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
