SOHMER GRAND PIANO FOR SALE 9 750 OBO SOHMER Model 57 - Five foot seven inch grand piano circa 1981. The condition is cosmetically and mechanically near mint. The cabinet sound board wrist plank harp bed felted hammers and mechanical action are all excellent. The rich and mellow tonal quality that this fine instrument produces is superb very similar to a Baldwin concert grand piano. Exceptional musical instruments such as this one should be cherished and taken care of to pass down into the hands of future generations. This piano is a rare find in that Sohmer hasn t manufactured grand pianos here in the United States for more than thirty years. This particular piano was manufactured on Long Island New York -- and is one of the last hand crafted grand pianos ever produced by Sohmer. The original buyer visited the factory before she placed her 14 500 dollar order with the Sohmer Company. I know these things to be factual because I bought this piano from the original owner more than a decade ago. This piano looks and plays as fine as when it was first delivered to the original owner. In every case where a piano is placed into a new atmospheric environment I recommend an expert tuning be performed two or three weeks past the delivery date.
