SATURDAY MAY 16 9 AM to 2PM The focus of this event is to bring the people of greater Canton Stark together for a morning of tag sale offerings information and outreach about community programming and development opportunities and an introduction to small businesses both goods and services pledged to doing regular trade in Canton Stark. BREAKING NEWS Appearing in concert the wonderful Ginger Ackley Ginger has her own style of folk music - she calls it Celtic with a Twist Ginger is a Texas native who has married into the State of Ohio She started performing folk and Celtic music at renaissanc...e faires and festivals in Texas in the mid 1990 s. She has traveled to most of the Southwestern states to the Caribbean Alaska and to Ireland with her music. Andy M. Stewart of the Scottish band Silly Wizard said that she writes songs in the old way. After living in Wyoming for a bit she moved to Ohio to marry her Donovan. She is a member of Folknet and of the Canton Folksong Society. youth photography competition... STILL STARK...Snapshots from our YOUTH You MUST be under 18 years of age to enter this competition. Are you a still photographer using your own work and editing to create great views of Canton and Stark County You are invited to hang your work and have it judged by a panel of photographers currently working here in this competition to be hung and judged in conjunction with the Canton Community PEOPLE S MARKET on Saturday May 16 2015 in Market Square (the Kresge lot) in downtown Canton. You may enter up to 3 (three) 8 1 2 x 11 photographs (black and white or color) at 9AM on Saturday morning May 16th by appearing with them each mounted on cardboard with a one inch margin all the way around so that they can be hung by a clothespin if necessary in the display. ...Your name age and Stark County location where the shot was taken should be clearly legible on the back of each submission. Two photographs of all submitted one by a male and one by a female will be judged best in show and receive a prize. All entries will receive a certification of appreciation after the fact. Judging will take place on site at 11 AM with winners announced at noon. Photographs are to remain in the display until the market closes at 2 00PM. Winners will be asked to email the winning photographs by midnight May 16 to miaventures(at)yahoo.com for recognition and publication via internet. Others participating may email their entries to this address also by the deadline to be published as part of the body of work resulting from the competition.
