LANTERN - Nautical - Brass PortStarboard Navagation - 110V Ligh

I am offering an early 1900 s Port & Starboard Navigation (Running) Lantern which is required on all vessels while underway at night. Based on the quality design and materials used it was most likely built in the early to mid 1900 s by the Universal Metal Spinning & Stamping Co. based in New York. The company information is stamped on the back just above the mounting bracket. The lantern is made of brass measuring 10 tall x 5 wide x 6 deep (add 4 to height with bale in the up position). both red and green lenses are in very good condition with a few scraps but no chips or cracks. At some time in the past a 110 volt lighting assembly was installed which includes a fixture bulb and power cord with in-line switch. Also the chimney and top have a couple of minor dents but the lantern is in exceptional overall condition considering its advanced age. This nautical artifact is a prime example of U.S. maritime history. Additional Nautical Items Available - Please Call Cliff (at) 760-942-2025 For More Information.
